Helping the Club

All Coaches, Team Managers, Committee Members, and Canteen organisers are completely voluntary positions mostly filled by parents, who also have full-time jobs. Please keep this in mind when talking with these people.

The Auskick program in particular has always relied on parents to provide support to ensure the smooth running of every session. This also gives the opportunity to meet other parents and club members, also to pick up new skills for those looking to broaden their horizons.

By signing up your child to play for Rostrata Football Club, you have agreed to participate in the duties that are required to ensure the smooth running of each session/game. A list of duties will be drawn up and families will be placed on a rotating roster this will be emailed out before the start of the season.

If you are sick or away please notify your Team Manager or Auskick Coordinator, so they can let the coaches know of numbers for games, but it is your responsibility to organise another parent to swap weeks with you- there are plenty of opportunities to meet other parents at training and game days so we encourage you to do this.

The duties include: assisting in the canteen, cooking the BBQ, being a timekeeper, setting up and packing up for games, and goal umpiring.

Please be prompt when turning up for your rostered duty. A brief description of the duties is included here so please take a moment to familiarise yourself with them and please let us know if you need any clarification.

Laundry: Auskick - collect jumpers, take home, wash, then return.

Canteen: Assist the canteen manager with serving customers, restocking as required, and general cleaning.

BBQ: set up BBQ, cook sausages & onions, clean down BBQ, pack away.

Time Keeper: Plug in siren. Confirm with coaches that they are ready. Start siren, time for 10 minutes, sound siren for 2 minutes, repeat 3 times. The siren button needs to be pressed for a full minute to allow teams playing on the far side of the oval to hear. Pack away siren.

Goal Umpire: Stand in between goal posts and wave the flags indicating a point or goal. Record the score and confirm with the scoreboard at the end of the game.
